From London to Rugby: My Journey as an Osteopath

Hello everyone, Osteopath Annie here!

Today, I'm excited to share a bit about my journey as an osteopath - starting from my adventures in London to returning to Rugby to set up my very own practice. Have a look below at how it unfolds.

The Beginning: Embracing Osteopathy

My passion for Osteopathy increased during my years of study and training at Swansea University. Osteopathy is a holistic approach to healthcare that resonated deeply with my belief in the body's natural ability to heal itself, I’ll explain more on this in the next blog. As we discussed the principles of osteopathy, I knew I had found my path - one that would allow me to help people from every walk of life.

London Bound: A Thriving Osteopathic Journey

After completing my training and working in a multidisciplinary clinic in Rugby, I decided to spread my wings and venture to London - a vibrant city bursting with opportunities, I started on a short-term contract working in Kensington and Tottenham Court Road. Moving to London was a pivotal moment in my career, this led me to move into my permanent position in Wandsworth. I immersed myself in diverse healthcare settings, collaborating with other practitioners, and honing my skills in treating a wide range of musculoskeletal issues.

During my time in London, I encountered a melting pot of patients from all walks of life—athletes recovering from sports injuries, office workers struggling with postural issues, expectant mothers seeking relief from pregnancy-related discomfort, and seniors striving to maintain mobility. Each patient brought a unique challenge and a valuable lesson, enriching my experience as an osteopath.

The Journey Home: Bringing Osteopathy to Rugby

As much as I cherished my time in London, I knew it was not going to be long term. So, I decided it was time to relocate to where my journey began. With newfound knowledge, skills, and experiences under my belt, I made the decision to return to Rugby and establish my own osteopathic practice.

Setting up my practice in Rugby feels like coming a full circle. It was a homecoming - a chance to give back to my community by offering personalised, compassionate osteopathic care. Rugby holds a special place in my heart, and I am excited to contribute to the health and well-being of its residents.

Building a Practice: The Vision Ahead

Now, as I embark on this entrepreneurial venture, my vision is clear. I want to create a welcoming space where patients feel heard, understood, and empowered on their healing journeys. My practice will be more than just a clinic; it will be a hub of holistic wellness - a place where individuals can find relief, support, and guidance towards optimal health.

I am eager to apply the knowledge and skills gained from my experiences in London, tailoring treatments to suit the unique needs of my community in Rugby. Whether it's alleviating pain, restoring mobility, or enhancing overall well-being, I am committed to providing comprehensive osteopathic care that promotes lasting health outcomes.

Join Me on this Journey

As I embark on this exciting new chapter, I invite you all to join me on this journey of growth, learning, and healing. Whether you're a resident of Rugby seeking osteopathic care or simply curious about the world of holistic healthcare, I look forward to connecting with each one of you.

Together, let's embrace the transformative power of osteopathy and pave the way towards a healthier, happier community in Rugby and beyond. Stay tuned for updates as I bring my dream of a thriving osteopathic practice to life in the heart of Rugby.

Thank you for being a part of this incredible adventure. Here's to new beginnings and the limitless possibilities that lie ahead!

See you next month,

Osteopath Annie
